Palm, Wine & Stout
Tue. 26 October 2010 | 7:30 PM
Eastern Angles Theatre Company presents Palm, Wine & Stout, a wickedly funny new play portraying Segun Lee-French’s trip back to his father’s homeland, Nigeria, with his white mother. Relatives, customs and music combine in a theatrical journey that will amuse and entertain anyone who has explored their own family history or had to re-examine their assumptions.
As a poet and playwright, Segun’s work has been commissioned for broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and Radio Manchester. In 2005 he was nominated for the Arts Foundation Performance Poetry award. His new play, Palm, Wine & Stout, was commissioned for rural touring by the Theatre Writing Partnership.
Black British theatre has found an appealingly quirky voice in Segun Lee-French
