Charles Mingus is considered to be one of the most influential Black American 20th century jazz musicians. His achievements and his musical accomplishments and works, despite the early adversities and prevalent prejudicial attitudes, are astonishing and inspirational.

A seven piece band – the much acclaimed The Mingus Project – play the music of Charles Mingus in a joyful and spirited way, very much how the original music was conceived and performed. We are thrilled that they have agreed to perform in North Norfolk in celebration of Black History Month as part of the COAST 2012 Cromer and Sheringham Art and Literary Festival. The music covers a wide range of styles including blues, gospel and latin.
